I am an arrogant, obnoxious and cocky New England Patriots fan and I have absolutely no problem admitting that. You want to know why? Because my team makes it to the Super Bowl EVERY YEAR and yours unfortunately does not. People pretend to hate winners and always want to see them fail but the truth is they just envy them. They wish they could be winners too. Tom Brady is a winner. People try to shoot his talents down every year but frankly the fact of the matter is that he is the greatest quarterback to ever step onto a football field, ever. That is where this blog should begin and end but to entertain the readers I will continue.
As time moves forward some of us may take what Tom has done for granted and I will not allow for that. This man has given us the greatest decade of football dominance that the sports world has ever seen. To reference a quote from a friend and fellow Patriots fan:
“He was touched by god himself”.
I am not a Christian man but I cannot agree more with that statement. We are talking about someone who has made 3 straight Super Bowl appearances, 4 in the last 5 years and 9 all time, putting him at more Super Bowl appearances than any other franchise in the NFL. Think about this, after Sunday, Tom Brady will have played in nearly 17% of Super Bowls all time and if he does indeed win he will tie the Pittsburgh Steelers for most Super Bowls won. Some players go their entire careers without ever getting close to making the big game and this man does it, EVERY SINGLE YEAR. It’s absurd. I don’t know if I am supposed to feel bad for the rest of the league or not. What this man has done sub 40 years old is astounding and according to him there is 0% chance this is his last ride. We can have the argument all day about how “Peyton was better, Rodgers is better, Brees is better” but frankly they all miss one key component, outright dominance.
Take this into consideration: Tom Brady has an all time winning percentage of 77.1% which includes playoffs and is also like saying, he wins nearly 3 of every 4 games he plays. In addition to a 29-10 playoff record putting him 13 wins above the next closest QB, Joe Montana. He has played in 12 more games than the next closest QB (Peyton Manning, 27) and has the highest playoff win percentage for quarterbacks with at least 12 starts. He has also been to 8 straight AFC Championship games. My favourite part about this whole thing though is when the Big J journalists like the Kellerman’s and the Sharpe’s of the the world that see the Patriots off to a slow start to the season every year and say things like:
Tom Brady is going to fall off a cliff and has not aged wellMax Kellerman – 2016
He does not look the same. He is not willing to stand in and take the hits anymore.Shannon Sharpe – 2018
I understand these guys are paid to make controversial takes to stir the pot in the sports world but how many times do they have to be wrong for them to admit it. Do they not realize Tom feeds off of their hatred, it’s really quite humorous if you ask me. For as long as Tom Brady is in the NFL, he is public enemy #1 and everyone’s biggest threat. Let’s go win another Super Bowl boys!
