Listen, I know when to accept defeat. I have seen this all before. This isn’t the first time the Patriots have broken my heart and I am sure it won’t be the last. Am I mad? Yea. Am I going to be a sore loser? No. Someone has to lose and yea it sucks that it was the Pats but what are you going to do. Realistically, we will return again before Tom is all said and done and we will conquer the feat one more time.
Congratulations to the Eagles and the City of Philadelphia, it was one hell of a game and you pulled off what I believed to be the impossible. I did not think Nick Foles was capable of a performance like that but he made sure to prove all of his haters wrong. I am sure he will get picked up by a new team next year and fall off the radar but at least he got his 15 minutes.
I am going to be honest, all this talk surrounding the Pats has started to concern me. We are saying bye to both our offensive and defensive coordinators. Gronk wouldn’t confirm if he would return for next season. Oh yea and Bill Belichick doesn’t let Malcolm Butler play one snap…not one. He claimed he was “giving the team the best chance they had to win”. Um excuse me. Malcolm Butler was the Super Bowl XLIX hero that made the goal line interception undercutting Russell Wilsons pass to seal Brady’s 4th ring. We are talking about arguably our number one corner and you claim to be doing whats best for the team. There’s problem here especially when Tom throws for 500 yards, 3 TD’s and the offense scores 33 points and we still give up 41 to lose! Something else is obviously going on and we may never know but I am deeply worried about the New England Kingdom. It genuinely feels like the beginning of the end to one of the greatest franchises in all of sports. Was Belichick sabotaging the team? Is he going to turn on us and everything we have been through? At this point, I don’t know anymore. I feel like crazier things have definitely happened. I am not looking to make excuses, I am just saying that something odd is going on in Foxborough.
Let’s try to take some positives out of this though. Brady confirmed he will be playing football next year. Mr. Ageless isn’t going anywhere people. The Patriots also opened as favourites to win next years Super Bowl with 9-2 odds. Edelman should be healthy and ready to go for the start of next season. Bill Belichick, although possibly a crazy person, should be back for another year and another shot at the title. Things aren’t even close to dead in Pats Land but the waters are getting a little rocky. Someone needs to grab hold of the wheel and steer this ship back in the right direction.
